VAN BUREN – Phoebe M. Gagnon, 81, died Sept. 3, 2004, at her residence on Champlain Street. She was born Feb. 8, 1923, in Van Buren, the daughter of Onezime and Alice (Tardif) Gagnon. She lived in southern and central Maine for many years prior to relocating to Van Buren over three years ago. She was employed as mill worker in textile and shoe factories in the Lewiston area. Phoebe is survived by her husband of 62 years, Armand P. Gagnon of Van Buren; one daughter, Beatrice McLaughlin and her husband, Richard, of Glenburn; two sons, Elmer Dumont of South Portland and Wayne Gagnon of Lisbon Falls; four brothers, Larry Gagnon and Jimmy Gagnon, both of New York, Benny Gagnon of Lisbon Falls, and Francis Gagnon of New Hampshire; four sisters, Yolande Tarsook of Wenham, Mass.; Viola Thibeault of Guilford, Yvette Stores of Monson, and Esther Crossman of Mississippi; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, at the Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Interment will be in the Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou.
