HOULTON – Phyllis E. Hagan died peacefully Sept. 5, 2006, at a Houlton hospital. She was born Oct. 14, 1926, at Smyrna Mills, the daughter of E. Herbert and Florence (Pond) Estes. Phyllis graduated from Merrill High School and the Madigan Hospital School of Nursing. She will be remembered most for a lifetime of nurturing others…as a mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Always aware of those in need, Phyllis was committed to service in her church and community. She is survived by her sons, Gary and Michael; daughters-in-law, Margaret and Ann, all of Houlton; grandchildren, Hannah (Hagan) Wilde of Exeter, Christopher Hagan of Houlton, Patrick Hagan of California, Jamison Hagan and Peter Hagan, both of Houlton; her brothers and their wives, Earl Estes and Dorothy of Corinth, George Estes and Sandra of Lee, N.H.; sister-in-law, Lorraine Estes of West Buxton; brother-in-law, Carl Hagan and Helen; sister-in-law, Carol (Hagan) Howe and Phil, all of Houlton; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and brothers, Carl and Frank Estes. At Phyllis’ request, a private memorial service will be held.
