HOULTON – Phyllis H. Dow, 90, died Jan. 22, 2007, at a local health care facility. She was born Dec. 26, 1916, in Merrill, the daughter of Manford and Margaret (Grant) Patchell. Phyllis attended the Smyrna United Methodist Church and was a member of the Rebekah’s. Phyllis loved fishing and spending time with family and friends at her camp on Mattawamkeag Lake. She is survived by her son, Harlem Hersey of Bridgewater; two daughters, Katherine Sherman of Connecticut and Hazel Keiser of Houlton; four grandchildren, Wendy Sher-man, Nichole Cullinan, Joey Hersey and Jennifer Wotton; five great-grandchildren, Justin, Trenton, Alex, Breanna and Landon; one brother, Clair Patchell of Millinocket; one sister, Jean Leavitt of East Hartford, Conn.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Hallie Hersey; her second husband, Nevers Dow; two brothers, Manford Patchell Jr. and Bertrum Patchell; one sister, Alice Logan.
