MARS HILL – Phyllis J. Antworth 73, died Sept. 27, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Aug. 10, 1931, in Mapleton, the daughter of Rev. Dennis and Blanche (Archer) Barnes. She was a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Mars Hill, where she had been active in many of the churches functions and activities. For 20 years, Phyllis drove school bus for the Mars Hill School District. She is survived by her husband, Otis Antworth of Mars Hill; three sons, Gerald F. Antworth of Henrietta, N.Y., Danny M. Antworth of Bristol, Conn. and Rickey I. Antworth of Mars Hill; a daughter, Roxanna Albert of Mars Hill; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Laura Bains of California and Clara McMannus of Houlton; several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Mars Hill from 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the church with Pastor Rodney Fulton officiating. Interment will be in the Kings Grove Cemetery in Mars Hill.
