WASHBURN – Phyllis Pike Corey, 87, died April 27, 2006, at a Caribou healthcare facility. She was born Jan. 1, 1919, in Woodland, the daughter of Arthur and Elsie (Barnum) Lloyd. Phyllis was a graduate of Caribou High School and spent most of her life raising her children and helping with the family farm. She loved being with her grandchildren and especially loved the outdoors. Phyllis enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting, needlework and gardening. She was predeceased by two husbands, Charles Pike and Freeman C. Corey; a daughter, Charlene Chapman; two sons, Charles Pike II and William Pike Sr.; two brothers, Kenneth Lloyd and Sheldon Lloyd; and a sister, Ruth Lloyd. She is survived by three sons, Arthur Pike and his wife, Anna, of Mapleton, Dana Pike and his wife, Becky, of Caribou and Freeman R. Corey of Wade; a sister, Ruth White and her husband, Stewart, of Washburn; 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bruce Blakney officiating. Interment will be in the Riverside Ext. Cemetery in Washburn.
