PHYLLIS S. BRADBURY MARS HILL – Phyllis S. Bradbury, 79, died Sunday, May 23, 2004 at a Bangor health-care facility. She was born July 10, 1924, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Edward D. and Pearl (Frost) Rand. Phyllis was a graduate of the Aroostook Central Institute in Mars Hill and following graduation served her country in World War II. She was a loving wife and mother to her family and she enjoyed fishing as well as reading. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Mars Hill Post No. 118. She is survived by her children, David C. Bradbury of Norway, Sally Beachum and her husband, John of East Waterboro, Molly Young and her husband, Rick of Mars Hill, Randi Bradbury-Childress and her husband, Bill of Old Saybrook, Conn., Thomas of Norway; nine grandchildren, Joseph, Mandy, Wade, Jonathan, Emilie, Frank, Britanie, Robert, Linnea; a great-granddaughter, Alexis; also three nieces and one nephew. She will also be remembered by special friends, Norman, Karen, Pat, Carol, Sherrill and Natalie. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Charles E. Bradbury; a son, Jay Bradbury and three brothers, Phillip, William, and an infant brother, Charles H. Rand. Friends called 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gardner Smith officiating. Interment will take place following the service at Kings Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill. The family invites friends to the home of Karen Tuck following the service for a time of refreshment, 244 Presque Isle, Rd., Mars Hill.
