RED BEACH and CALAIS – Priscilla Caret, 75, died unexpectedly Oct. 9, 2003, at her residence in Red Beach. She was born Jan. 19, 1928, in Augusta, the daughter of Alphonse and Alice (Taylor) Lahaye. Priscilla taught for 32 years in the Augusta and Calais elementary schools. She was an active member of the Garden Club, Benevolent Society, and Dancing Grannies of St. Stephen. Adventurous is a word that described Priscilla, and generous with her time. She spent a good part of her time with her family and friends. Priscilla enjoyed her garden, painting, her visits to St. Croix Island, her cats and birdfeeder. She loved music and the singalongs she would inspire while playing the piano. Priscilla had dozens and dozens of devoted friends with whom she would diligently keep in touch. She is survived by three sons, Thomas Bailey of Washington, D.C., Michael Bailey and his wife, Debra, of Searsmont, and Robert Bailey of Calais; one daughter, Patricia Webber and her husband, Michael, of Belfast; one brother, Archie Lahaye of Alaska; two grandchildren, Lindsay and Kathryn Bailey of Searsmont. A gathering of friends will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the Scott-Wilson Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, at the United Methodist Church, Calais, with Rev. Ron Chaffee officiating. Following memorial services refreshments and conversation will be in the Thelma Ross Fellowship Hall. Burial will be at a later date at the Red Beach Cemetery.
