NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Priscilla I. (Polmatier) Ranzoni, 87, formerly of 62 Mohawk Forest Bld., North Adams, Mass., died Sunday Nov. 23, 2003, at Sweet Brook Care Center, Williamstown, Mass., where she was admitted Oct. 19, 1998. She was born March 16, 1916, in Great Barrington, daughter of the late George and Alice (Anson) Polmatier. She attended Great Barrington Elementary schools and was a graduate of Searles High School, Great Barrington, class of 1933. She was a 55-year resident of Chatham, N.Y., before moving to North Adams in 1994. While in Chatham she was employed for many years as a bookkeeper at the former B.H. Delson Department Store, the Chatham Furniture Co., the Agway Store, and lastly with the Giel Equipment Co., all of Chatham, until her retirement in 1974. She attended the First Congregational Church, North Adams, enjoyed needlework and crocheting, crossword puzzles, flowers and gardening. Her husband, Joseph Ranzoni, whom she married June 20, 1934, died Jan. 16, 1989. She is survived by two sons, Raymond R. Ranzoni of North Adams and Edwin J. Ranzoni of Bucksport; eight grandchildren, Paul D. Ranzoni of Pittsfield, Mass., Rhonda R. Ezpelepta of Hollywood, Fla., Ramona J.R. LaFrance of Manchester, Conn., Robert K. Ranzoni of Manchester, Conn., Raymond J. Ranzoni of North Adams, Gina R. Tapp of E. Longmeadow, Mass., Daniel L. Ranzoni of Bar Harbor, Joseph D.E. Ranzoni of Bucksport; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Polmatier. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, in the Auge San Soucie-Simmons Funeral Home, North Adams, Mass. The Rev. Jill D. Graham, pastor of the First Congregational Church, North Adams, Mass., will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Great Barrington, Mass. Calling hours at the funeral home will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in her memory be made to the Sweet Brook Care Center Activities Fund, through the funeral home, 46 North Church St., 01247.
