BLUE HILL – Priscilla Jones Leighton, 71, died Aug. 12, 2008, at a Blue Hill hospital. She was born Dec. 13, 1936, in Blue Hill, the daughter of Fred A. and Fannie (Atherton) Jones. Priscilla attended school in Blue Hill, graduating from George Stevens Academy. She lived a full and rewarding life despite her health problems. She loved to read, cook, garden and laugh. She enjoyed spend-ing time with her family and friends, and spending the winters in Florida. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sis-ter and friend. Her best times were spent with her grandchildren. Priscilla was a member of East Blue Hill Baptist Church and American Legion Auxiliary. Priscilla is survived by her husband of 54 years, Sheldon of Blue Hill; sons, David of Vinalhaven, Brian of Milbridge and Dana and wife, Cathy, of Stockton Springs; daughter, Carol Doyle and husband, Michael, of Franklin, Tenn.; grand-children, Mark Leighton, Derek Leighton, Arthur Leighton, and Christopher, Nicholas and Ben-jamin Doyle; sisters, Sylvia Black of Blue Hill, Nancy Hatch of Clifton and Mary Ellen Hut-chinson of Stonington; brothers, Harry Jones of Sedgwick and Malcolm Jones of Bucksport; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Lester Jones; niece, Tammy Jones; and nephew, Michael Jones. A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at East Blue Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Steven Sobel officiating. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery, North Blue Hill.
