BREWER- Mrs. Philip G. Hines, 87, wife of the late Philip G. Hines, died Dec. 22, 2004, at her residence. She was born Aug. 11, 1917, in Stillwater. She was the daughter of Howard and Mabel Storman of Stillwater. Prudence married Philip on Aug. 20, 1949. They were married 42 years. For many years she was employed as a secretary for Penobscot Poultry of Belfast and then at Fleet Bank of Bangor from which she retired. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brewer and was very active with the “Community of Caring” also being the representative from the church. Prudence frequently visited and checked in on elderly members of the church. She volunteered with the United Way, MPBN and numerous other organizations throughout the area, too many to even mention. Prudence gave her time very generously where ever it was needed. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Jim Hines and his wife, Angie, of Chesterfield, Va., and Dick Hines and his wife, Paula, of Locust Grove, Va.; three grandchildren, Christian Hines of Andrews Air force Base, Md., Jessica Hines of Chesterfield, Va., and Jake Hines of Daytona Beach, Fla.; one brother, Ronald Storman; two sisters, Carlotta Cross and Lucille Snedden, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Howard Storman Jr., George Storman and Fenton Storman. Friends may call from 12-2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Dr. George Curtis III, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
