CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – R. Bob Robbins, 79, formerly of Bar Harbor, died Sept. 16, 2006, in Scranton, Pa. He was a son of the late Howard H. and Nora Padolne Robbins and moved in 1966 from Bar Harbor. He was a graduate of Maine Maritime Academy and Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Class of 1948. A Navy veteran, he was general manager for New York Life Insurance Co. for more than 30 years. His wife of 38 years, the former Mary “Janis” Cough, died June 20, 2005. Surviving are three sons, Mark and wife, Bozena, of Las Vegas, Jay of Dublin, Ohio, and Dean and wife, Susanne, of Bedford, N.H., and Bar Harbor; three daughters, Terri Viviano and husband, Christopher, of Clarks Summit. Pa., Kathy Robbins of Candler, N.C., and Barbara Kazmierczak and husband, Ted, of Clarks Summit, Pa.; a brother, Aldene of Bar Harbor; and six grandchildren. A committal service will be held 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Cemetery, Bar Harbor by Fr. John O’Hara.
