PALMYRA – Rachel B. Vanadestine, 23, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Sept. 22, 1981, in Skowhegan, the daughter of Everett and Sheryl (Cowan) Vanadestine. She attended Nokomis Regional High School in Newport. Rachel enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid animal lover, especially enjoying her cats. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, camping, fishing, music, watching movies, and collecting dolphins. She is survived by her parents, Sheryl,of Palmyra and Everett of Hartland; her companion of six years, Joseph Varricchio; a brother, Jacob Vanadestine of Palmyra; her maternal grandmother, Merna Cowen; and paternal grandmother, Fay Vanadestine; uncles, Brian and Buzzy; aunts, Sherry, Kathy, and Wendy; and many cousins and friends. Visiting hours will be from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, at Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, 35 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield with funeral immediately following at 3 p.m., with Pastor Vasha Piedmont officiating. Interment will follow at Palmyra Village Cemetery.
