BANGOR – Rachel E. Ellis, 97, passed away Jan. 26, 2006, at Ross Manor. She was born Sept. 16, 1908, in East Corinth, the daughter of William L. and Evelyn (Farrar) Ellis. Rachel graduated from Bangor High School and attended their reunions for many years. She was employed at Eastern Maine Medical Center and then by General Electric Company for 30 years, retiring in 1973. Rachel enjoyed genealogy and playing Bridge with her friends. She was knowledgeable about plants and flowers and her pastime was riding around Bangor to see what changes were taking place. Rachel was predeceased by three sisters, Barbara E. Withee, Elinor E. Robinson and Mary Ellen Naugler; two nephews, Richard Withee and Kevin Naugler. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Rosalie Hammond, William Robinson, Alfred Robinson, James Robinson, all of Dover-Foxcroft, Joan Conley of Elbridge, N.Y., Harold A. Withee of Winslow and Ariana Tealis of Bangor. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Outer Hammond Street, Bangor, with the Rev.
