SANGERVILLE and BAREFOOT BAY, Fla. – Ralph E. “Juge” McPhe-tres, 78, husband of Irene “Rene” (Carle) McPhetres, passed away peacefully March 17, 2007, at Sebastian River Medical Center, Florida, with his wife by his side. He was born Feb. 26, 1929, in Sangerville, a son of Ralph and J. Madelene (Smith) McPhetres. Juge spent his childhood years growing up on the family farm in Sangerville. He enjoyed animals and gardening, and loved his little poodle Cuddles. Juge served in the U.S. Army, worked at Sangerville Woolen Mill, was a self-taught carpenter, and retired from Haley Construction Co. He belonged to the Dexter Club for many years. He spent many summers at his camp that he built on Center Pond, and enjoyed traveling before purchasing their winter Florida home after retirement. Juge was well known for his kind, patient, and gentle nature. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. He leaves behind many wonderful friends and neighbors. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 55 years, are a brother, and wife, Paul and Patricia McPhetres of Sangerville; sisters and husbands, Coretta and Frank Brown of St. Albans, Jeanette and Dale Easler of Dexter, Barbara and Dale Woodard of Sangerville; and a sister-in-law, Maxine McPhe-tres of Etna. He will also be sadly missed by sisters-in-law and husbands, Marilyn and Gordon Clark of Dexter, Jean and John Lemieux of Sangerville; many nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a special nephew and sons, Stephen Lemieux, Benjamin and Kyle of Exeter; special nieces and husbands, Suzanne and Gregory Zagorianakos and sons, Nicholas, Matthew, and Michael, Carla and Leon LaFerriere and children, Allison and Joshua, all of Gorham, Cheri and Erik Schulz and son, Ethan of Scarborough; special cousins, Orman McPhetres of Sangerville and Donald McPhe-tres of Plaistow, N.H., and Barefoot Bay, Fla. Juge was predeceased by a brother, Phillip McPhetres. A celebration of his life will be held 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, at the McPhetres residence, 932 Barefoot Blvd., Barefoot Bay, Fla. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 11, at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak St., Guilford, where friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 10. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Guilford. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to the Visiting Nurses Association and Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
