RALPH LEE BUTTERFIELD BROOKTON – Ralph Lee Butterfield, 78, husband of Mary (Estabrook) Butterfield, died peacefully July 27, 2006, surrounded by his family at home. He was born Oct. 2, 1927, in Weston, the son of Fred and Hannah Butterfield. Ralph was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a woodsman for Georgia Pacific for many years. He loved fishing on East Grand Lake. He was a registered Maine guide for several years and served on the board of directors for the Eastern Maine Electrical Co-op. He was a member of the Rex L. McKinnon American Legion Post No. 45 and was a speaker for the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. He was an avid gardener and loved to feed birds and deer in the winter. He enjoyed watching his beloved Red Sox and the Patriots. In addition to his wife, Mary of Brookton, he is survived by a son, John Butterfield and his wife, Pam, of Carmel; three daughters, Cynthia Par? and her husband, Jim, of Dedham, Laura Huff and her husband, Mike, of Carmel, Lisa Belyea of Houlton; five stepchildren, Randy Farrar and his special friend, Tammy Smith, of Weston, Mike Farrar and his special friend, Deb Simpson, of Houlton, Tim Farrar and his wife, Jessica, of Bradford, Bruce Farrar and his wife, Leslie, of Ormond Beach, Fla., Sandra Gregg and her husband, Phil, of Tampa, Fla.; two special grandchildren, John and Amy; several grandchildren, stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Karole Butterfield. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at the Clay Funeral Home-Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Rd., Danforth. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Root officiating. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Brookton at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Rex L. McKinnon American Legion Post No. 45 or to the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
