HOULTON – Raymond J. “Nick” Nickerson, 76, died on Feb. 15, 2004, at Houlton. He was born on Nov. 19, 1927, in Houlton, the son of Raymond A. and Evelyn (Swallow) Nickerson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He retired from B & A Railroad after 35 years, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Raymond enjoyed “coffeeing” with his friends at Ken’s Store and Doc’s and enjoyed watching NASCAR, horse racing and playing cards. Raymond was survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara (Hoyt) Nickerson of Houlton; seven children, Kevin and his wife, Heleana Nickerson, of Houlton, Sharon and her husband, Tim O’Donnell, of Hodgdon, Brian and his wife, Linda Nickerson, of Houlton, Galen and his wife, Chris Nickerson, of Linneus, Sue and her husband, Peter Crovo, of Houlton, Karen Donovan of Brewer, and Robin and her husband, Aaron Green, of Houlton; 15 grandchildren; one brother, Bobby Nickerson of Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Lowell “Mickey” and Erwin. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, where funeral services will be held 12 noon on Wednesday with the Rev. David Tuttle officiating. Spring interment will be held in the Littleton Cemetery.
