WINTERPORT – Raymond Leroy Weaver, 77, died peacefully Dec. 17, 2004, at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Bangor. Raymond was born Dec. 30, 1926, in St. Albans, the son of Hazel and Mabel Weaver who predeceased him in 1936. He was raised by his grandparents, Marco and Elizabeth Weaver. Ray attended public schools in Monroe, and spent two years in the U.S. Army, having been stationed at Fort Benning, Ga. Ray worked at the Moody farm and then went to work for Clements Hatchery until he went in the service, returning to work there after coming home. Ray retired in 1980 from Agway, Inc. Surviving him are his wife, Ava L. Bickford Weaver, whom he married in September 1950; three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Albert Aldus of Belfast, Linda and Victor Smith Jr. of Winterport, Susan and Jefferey Littlefield of Winterport; three sons and daughter-in-laws, Paul and Joyce Weaver of Winterport, Stephen and Tina Weaver of Fayette, and David and Martha Weaver of Harrington; 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wilma and Kay Weaver of Monroe, Robert and Jackie Weaver of Belfast; one sister-in-law, Orlean Weaver of Winslow; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Alice Bickford, Elnora and Stewart Kingsbury and Ralph and Dorothy Bickford. A special thank you to the Maine Veterans’ Home for Ray’s wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maine Veterans’ Home, “Activity Fund”, 44 Hogan Road, Bangor, ME 04401. A service celebrating Raymond’s life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at the Monroe Community Church with the Rev. and Mrs. Art Gowie officiating. Interment will be held in Pilgrim’s Home Cemetery, Monroe. Arrangements by Foley Funeral Service, Bangor.
