BRUNSWICK – Raymond M. Labbe Sr., 44, of Durham Road, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at the Mid Coast Hospital. He was born Sept. 23, 1959, in Brunswick, a son of Raymond L. and Madeline J. Randall Labbe. He attended St. John’s School and graduated from Brunswick High School, Class of 1977. On Sept. 27, 1980, he married Patricia A. Mooers of Topsham and they continued to make their home and raise their in children in Brunswick. He was co-owner and Treasurer of Ray Labbe & Sons, Inc., and contributed a great deal to his community. Ray was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Brunswick. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Vigilants Club, a member and past treasurer and president of the Brunswick Kiwanis Club, and served the Associated Contractors of Maine on various committees, as past president and board of directors; and was the recipient of the 2003 Bath-Brunswick Region Chamber of Commerce President’s Award. He was a loving and dedicated family man who held tightly to life, family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid motorcycle rider, and golfer, winning three local tournaments this summer. He enjoyed vacationing with his family, boating, snowmobiling, four wheeling, card playing, football, and Nascar. Ray was predeceased by a daughter, Christina M. Labbe and his father, Raymond L. Labbe. He is survived by his wife of 23 years; his mother, Madeline R. MacMahan and her husband, Walter, of Brunswick; a son, Raymond M. Labbe Jr.; and a daughter, Amber L. Labbe, both of Brunswick; six sisters, Blanche Labbe of Durham, Shirley Rector of Brunswick, Gail Riendeau of Brunswick, Mabel MacLean of Brunswick, Joan Seas of Gulf Breeze, Fla., and Monica Russell of Bath; four brothers, Paul E. Labbe Sr., Peter L. Labbe, and Roland O. Labbe, all of Brunswick, and David W. Labbe of Coldchester, Conn., many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Demers-Desmond Funeral Home, 34 Cushing St., Brunswick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Church, 39 Pleasant St., Brunswick. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Columbus Drive, Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to either; Contractors Association Scholarship Fund, P.O.
