VAN BUREN – Raymond R. “Frenchie” Cameron, 68, died Dec. 6, 2007, at a Van Buren nursing home, after a brief illness. He was born April 28, 1939, in St. Hermenegilde, Quebec, the son of Venerain and Aldea (Deblois) Cameron. He was employed as a drywall installer most of his working life. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council of Grand Isle. Raymond was also an assistant trail master for the Van Buren ATV Club. If he was not riding his four-wheeler, he was home watching golf with his family around him. He will be missed by many friends. Raymond is survived by his wife, Gail (Peters) Cameron of Van Buren; one son, Jolain Cameron and companion, Rick Caron, of Bangor; one daughter, Debby Soucy of Van Buren; one brother, Real Cameron and his wife, Gisele, of Nashua, N.H.; two stepdaughters, Dale Rouille of Burlington, Vt., and Kim Rouille of Charlston, N.C.; two stepsons, Jeff Rouille and Lem Rouille, both of Burlington, Vt.; three special grandchildren, Reno, Allison and Neil Soucy, all of Van Buren; one special stepgrandson, Christopher Rouille of Burlington, Vt.; many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Spring interment will be at Grande Riviere Cemetery.
