MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. and GREENVILLE – Raymond W. Smith, 71, died June 19, 2004, with his family by his side. He was born July 31, 1932, in Greenville. He was a telecommunications technician for Alascom in Glennallen, Alaska. Ray and his wife owned and operated I-Bar-F lodge while in Alaska. Ray was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Ray is survived by his beloved wife, Betty; daughter, Christina Gilcrease; step-daughters, Susan Taylor and Mona Comparato; step-son, Rick Reynolds; grandsons, Colby Gilcrease, James Comparato and Adam Taylor; granddaughters, Caroline LeFleur, Leah Comparato and Julie Singletary; great-grandchildren, Cassie and Heather LeFleur, Jacob, Audrey, and Katie Taylor, Nicolas and Hailey Singletary, and Jada Matthes; two sisters, Esther Wallace and Jean King; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by a step-grandson, Eric Reynolds; two brothers, Lewis Carol and Robert Smith; his parents, Raymond and Marjorie Smith. A memorial service will be held July 31, 2004, at Mt. Home, Ark.
