VIRGINIA – Raynold “Ray” Baker, 63, died unexpectedly Jan. 15, 2008, at a Virginia hos-pital. He was born Oct. 25, 1944, in Ashland, the son of William and Cecile (Beaulier) Baker. Ray served in the U.S. Army as a signal corps specialist, stationed in Korea. He was employed by IBM, where he retired after 30 years and was currently employed as an electronics technician for Hanover County, Va. Ray will be fondly remembered for his wit and pranks. He loved playing tricks on his pet birds and they often returned the favor. He was predeceased by his parents; and his older brother, Gerald Baker. He leaves his beloved wife of 40 years, Coralee Baker of Virginia; son, David and Sherry Farrar of Virginia; granddaughter, Shelley Farrar and fianc?, Arvind Persaud, of New York; and a great-grandson, David Ray Persaud. He leaves three brothers, Gene of Ashland, Daniel and wife, Lee, of Brewer and Mike and wife, Cathy, of Orrington; four sisters, Dolores Stephenson of Presque Isle, Sally Zambona of Etna, Diane Baker of Fort Fairfield and Lorraine Baker of Hampden; sister-in-law, Judith Baker of Brewer; aunts, uncles, many nieces and nephews, and his beloved pets. Those who wish to remember Ray in a special way may contribute in his memory to any animal shelter of their choice. In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held.
