FRENCHBORO – Rebecca J. Lunt, 74, died March 16, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Dec. 21, 1929, in South Penobscot, the daughter of Ralph Eugene and Flora Evelyn (Howard) Reed. Rebecca operated Becky’s Boutique on Frenchboro for many years. She was a member and the organist for the Frenchboro Congregational Church for more than 30 years and she also was a Sunday school teacher there. Rebecca was instrumental in starting the Frenchboro Historical Society. Rebecca loved to paint and enjoyed Stitches Group on the island. She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, John R. Lunt; her son, Ralph and daughter-in-law, Carmen Reynolds of Puerto Rico; her daughter, Eva L. Lunt of West Tremont; four grandchildren, John, Mark, April and Wayne; eight great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to call 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2004 at Fernald Funeral Chapel, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert, where funeral services will be held 12 noon Saturday.
