CHERRYFIELD – Rebecca S. Foster, 78, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 27, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Nov. 6, 1925, in Cherryfield, the daughter of Joseph and Coris (Tenan) Sproul. She was a graduate of Harrington High School, Class of 1944. Rebecca was employed as a bookkeeper for 18 years at A.L. Stewart and Sons in Cherryfield. She later worked at Jasper Wyman and Sons for a number of years. Rebecca is survived by her husband of 59 years, Lester Foster of Cherryfield; a son, Joseph Foster of Kennebunk; three sisters, Ruth Bucci of Canton, Mass., Roberta Beal of Cherryfield, and Jean Norton of Sun City, Ariz.; two brothers, Joseph S. Sproul of Cherryfield, and Robert Sproul of Tybee Island, Ga.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Audrey Sproul; and a brother, Richard Sproul. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, April 1, at the Small Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Palmer officiating.
