CARIBOU – Reginald A. “Brownie” Brown, 71, died Feb. 13, 2007, at his Caribou residence, with his dear wife by his side, who took care of him for seven months with his battle with brain cancer. He was born Feb. 25, 1935, in Presque Isle, the son of Arthur and Emily (Johnson) Brown. Reginald graduated from Presque Isle High School, Class of 1953. After graduation he started working for Staples and Skip Carroll in Presque Isle. In 1956, he was hired by the state of Maine as a table stock and certified seed potato inspector for 32 years, and his last 10 years of work he was a supervisor over the potato inspector, until his retirement in 1997. He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley (White) Brown of Caribou, whom he married Jan. 19, 1955; a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Charlotte Brown of Vassalboro; four grandchildren, Bobbie Jo Griffin of Topsham, Randy Brown of Easton, Alexis Deveau of Bradley and Ashley Brown of North Vassalboro; a stepgrandson, Shane Hutchins of Fort Polk, La.; two great-grandchildren, Madison Griffin of Topsham and Jazmyn Brown of Easton and another one on the way; many special nieces, nephews and cousins; two special brothers-in-law, Bernard White of Mars Hill and Bill White of Washburn; a special sister-in-law, Kathy White of Washburn. Brownie has a lot of special friends at the mall and at home with our special neighbors, Dale and Betty Morin. He was predeceased by three sons, Reginald Jr., Brian and Randy; and by a sister, Joyce Beaupre. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, from the chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Blakney and the Rev. John Palmer officiating. Spring interment will take place in Fairmont Cemetery, Presque Isle.
