FORT KENT – Rella Fortin Cyr, 88, died peacefully Aug. 16, 2005, at an Eagle Lake nursing care facility. She was born in Fort Kent, April 28, 1917, the daughter of the late Thomas and Philomene (Charette) Caron. She was predeceased by her first husband, Wilfred Fortin and second husband, Lionel Cyr. Mrs. Cyr worked at Roy’s Millinery in Fort Kent, at the Fort Kent Community High School cafeteria for many years and also at the St. Joseph Nursing Home in Frenchville. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and the Catholic Order of Foresters, both of Fort Kent. She was an avid gardener and her favorite pastime was playing Charlemagne. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by three sons and their wives, Wilfred and Rita Fortin Jr. of Southington, Conn., James and Lorraine Fortin of New Britain, Conn., Robert and Diane Fortin of Bloomfield, Conn.; four daughters and their husbands, Phyllis and Maurice Morin of Fort Kent, Gladys and Ted Hanson of Patten, Marilyn and Duane Plourde of New Canada, Carolyn and Leroy Pelletier of South Windsor, Conn.; a brother, Lucien Caron of Wilmington, Del.; 15 grandchildren, Wayne, Cynthia, Mark, Cheryl, Melissa, Fred, Karen, Kevin, Kyle, Kelly, Todd, Chris, Michelle, Lee and Eric; nine great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent, 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday until time of service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. Louis Catholic Church, with the Rev. Paul Labree officiating. Committal service will follow in the parish cemetery.
