FORT KENT – Rena (Voisine) Laferrier, 89, died April 14, 2006, at a Fort Kent healthcare facility. She was born Dec. 18, 1916, Fort Kent, the daughter of Fred and Delia (Theriault) Voisine. Rena was a devoted mother, home maker and was very close to her family. One of her favorite past times was sewing and being there for her family, she will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by one son, Aurelle “JR” Laferrier and his wife, Lucy, of Plainville, Conn.; seven daughters, Maryland Harvey of Fort Kent, Jacqueline Theriault of Fort Kent, Lou Caron and her husband, Rauol, of Fort Kent, Stella Smith and her husband, Richard, of Bristol, Conn., Betty Ann Gagnon and her husband, Roger, of Fort Kent, Greta Morneault and her husband, Clifford, of Frenchville and Rita “Bobbie” Coulombe and her husband, Clayton, of Daigle and Homestead, Fla.; two sisters, Egline Charette of Fort Kent, Alma Cyr of Millinocket; 22 grandchildren, Julie, Shelly, Lisa, Jessica, Alex, Benita, Mark, Jay, Linda, Connie, Carl, Debbie, Dale, Gary, Sherrie, Todd, Elaine, Carol, Danny, Jason, Vickie and Mariya; 19 great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Courtney, Erik, Patrick, Shelly, Danny, Stephane, Kris, Ryan, Lance, Lee, Randy, Cody, Stephanie, Desiree, Michelle, Sean, Thomas and Michael; three great-great-grandchildren, Brody, Vance and Noah. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to both parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Aurelle Laferriere Sr. in 1983; one son, Arnold Laferriere in 1983; and one brother, Alcide Voisine. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. Wednesday until time of service at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home in Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Fort Kent. Those who wish in her memory may donate to the Forest Hill Manor Activities, Forest Hill Manor, 25 Bolduc Ave., Fort Kent, ME 04743. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Committal services will be held in the parish cemetery May 11.
