CARIBOU – Rene Raymond Johndro, 79, husband of the late Louise (Bell) Johndro, died April 16, 2006, at a Bangor healthcare facility. He was born Dec. 5, 1926, in Limestone, the son of Dolphius and Annie (Page) Johndro. Rene was a graduate of Limestone High School and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a self-employed farmer in the local area for many years. Rene was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a member of the Lister-Knowlton Post No. 9389 VFW. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Beryl Johndro of Old Town and Roderick and Ellen Johndro of Milford; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Beverly Cheplic of Biddeford, Tamara and Curt Fackler of Spokane, Wash., Jolene and James St. Jean of Caribou and Jill and Michael Damboise of Bristol, Conn.; three brothers, Roger and Norman Johndro of Limestone and Reginald Johndro of Caribou; three sisters, Annette Stratton of Massachusetts, Cecile Stevens of New York and Joan Johndro of Caribou; 10 grandchildren, Mark Toothman, Ryan and Jennifer Cheplic, Audrey, Amanda and Zackery Johndro, Holli and Danielle Damboise and Richard and Treena Fackler; and six great-grandchildren, Ryan Toothman, Raymond, Austin, Logan, Maddison and Jade Cheplic. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, April 20, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Fr. David Raymond, associate pastor, officiating in a Mass of Christian burial. Interment will take place in the Old Holy Rosary Cemetery.
