PENOBSCOT and STONINGTON – The Rev. Loren “Bill” E.L. Hutchinson, 72, of Penobscot, and formerly of Stonington, went home to be with his Lord Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 4, 1936, in Stonington, the son of the late Loren and Roberta (Robbins) Hutchinson. The Rev. Hutchinson served his country in the U.S. Army 29th Tank Division, during the Korean War, being honorably discharged with rank of sergeant. A lifelong fisherman, he later became a fisher of men with his Evangelistic Ministries at several area churches. He was an active counselor and house director of Youth / Teen Challenge, New York. He provided his unconditional love for family and friends on the island and surrounding communities. He served as chaplain at Duffy Wescott American Legion, Blue Hill. He and Bonnie (Judkins) Hutchinson shared 16 years of marriage, and worked together as business partners. He shared his love of camping, boating and traveling with an ever-growing circle of family and friends. In addition to his wife, family members include his children, Edward Hutchinson and wife, Terri, Alan Hutchinson and wife, Laurie, both of Ston-ington, Kathy Albert and husband, Joseph “Bill,” of Plymouth, Eric Clark and wife, Brenda, of Penobscot, Gwen Younes of Bucksport and Dawn Gillen, U.S. Air Force/A1C, and husband, Tim, of South Carolina; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Roger Hutchinson of Brooklin and Robert Hutchinson of Orland; sister, Hope Eaton of Stonington; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his canine companion, Leo. He was predeceased by his first wife of 33 years, Marjorie (Hodgkins) Hutchinson; a son, Randy Hutchinson; a daughter, Wendy Sawyer; as well as brothers, James and Lewis Hutchinson. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Thurlows Hill, Stonington. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to call 11 a.m. until the hour of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
