SOMERS, Conn. and EAGLE LAKE – Rhona J. (Laferriere) Bouchard, 81, went to heaven on Friday, Sept. 10, 2004, at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs. Rhona was the daughter of the late Edith and Landor (Shaw) Laferriere of Eagle Lake. During World War II, she emigrated to Hartford to work in the defense industries. She worked for Arrow Hart & Hegman and also Pratt & Whitney Aircraft. She met and married James E. Bouchard. They would have observed their 60 year anniversary this December. Rhona was a dedicated homemaker and devoted to raising her five children. She endured the many changes in residence associated with Jim’s military service. This included living in post war Frankfort, Germany from 1946-1949 and Anchorage, Ala. from 1951-1953 as well as other numerous stateside assignments. She is survived by husband James of Somers, Conn.; two sons, three daughters and their wives and husbands, Kim and James R. Bouchard of Bonney Lake, Wash., Nancy J. Bouchard and Russ Daley of Longwood, Fla., Pamela F. and Rick Clegg of White Rock, British Columbia, Patricia C. Bouchard Bushnell of Ellington, Conn., Suzanne and Ken Bouchard of Waterford, Conn.; 14 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; five sisters and three brothers, Mildred Perreault of Eagle Lake, Madeline Masters of Enfield, Conn., Bernice Roy of Wethersfield, Conn., Patsy Simon of Boca Raton, Fla., Maxine Deprey of Port Richey, Fla., Gilbert Shaw and Norman Laferriere, both of Eagle Lake, and Gilman Shaw of Hartford, Conn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Eagle Lake. There are no calling hours.
