DANFORTH – Richard Caroll Howard, 73, died June 15, 2004, at his home. He was born Oct. 23, 1930, in Danforth, the son of Don and Madeline M. (Harding) Howard. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Audubon Society, NRA, and the American Military Society. He is survived by a sister, Olive Spinney of Danforth; two nieces, Jackie Shorey and Judy Helms; three special great-nieces and great-nephews; Patricia Rabideau and Peggy Russell, both of New York and Timothy Shorey of Houlton. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles L. Howard. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Clay Funeral Home-Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Road, Danforth. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Root officiating. Interment will be in Danforth Cemetery.
