SHIN POND and HOULTON Richard C. “Dick” Hill, 81, of Shin Pond and Houlton, died Feb. 25, 2004, at his home. He was born March 16, 1922, in Dorchester, Mass., the son of George and Cora (Leslie) Hill. Dick graduated from Stockbridge Agricultural School and was a dairy farmer for 43 years and operated the last working dairy farm in Bellingham, Mass., where he also plowed snow for 43 years, never missing a storm. He was also on the school committee, the school building committee, was a member of the Farm Bureau in Maine and Massachusetts, the Kiwanis and a 50-year member of the Wallaston Masonic Lodge, A.F. & A.M. Dick is survived by his wife of 56 years, June (Eaton) Hill of Houlton; four sons, Rick and his wife, Sara Hill, Leslie Hill and his fianc‚e, Alma Chase and Craig and his wife, Terry Hill, all of Mount Chase, Cary and his wife, Terri Hill, of Houlton; 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Dana and George. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church, Patten, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Tom Chandler officiating, in conjunction with Katahdin Lodge No. 98 AF & AM. Spring interment will be in the Patten Cemetery.
