MILLINOCKET – Richard “Dick” Harvey, 77, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2006, after a brief illness surrounded by his family. He was born Dec. 15, 1928, in Patten, the son of Boardman and Cassie (Thompkins) Harvey. Dick was one of 13 children. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Dick was well respected and loved by all who knew him. Loving to work outdoors, Dick worked as a heavy equipment operator for 50 years and was a horse logger with his sons for five years. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Gloria (Shorey) Harvey of Millinocket; three sons, Patrick, Jon and James Harvey; four daughters, Ellen Flynn, Ruth McGrath, Jayne Jones and Joanne Lane; and his honorary daughter, Regina Tremblay. He was the grandfather of Ryan McGrath and his wife, Summer, Marissa and Ashley McGrath, Michael Keim, Jeffrey, Samantha and Jasmine Jones, Jessica and Dustin Harvey, Jon E. Harvey, Crystal and Justin Flynn, Chelsea and Thomas Sloan, Richard and Shauna Harvey, and Christopher Allen. He was the great-grandfather of Tessa Nash, Amir Saunders, Camryn Bois, and Wesley Keim. Dick was the much-loved father-in-law of Thomas McGrath, Jeff Jones and Kenneth Lane. In honor of Dick’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. Arrangements entrusted to R.L.
