LAKELAND Fla., and SURRY Richard E. Carter, 74, died June 4, 2007, at Lakeland, Fla., of cancer. He was born Sept. 2, 1932, in Blue Hill. He grew up in Surry and moved to Lakeland, Fla., in 1982. He served in U.S. Air Force and was a TV repairman. He is survived by his mom, Beatrice Clough of Surry; wife, Beatrice Carter of Lakeland, Fla.; sister, Barbara Tuozzo of Surry; children, Debby Fitch of Hancock, Larry Carter of Casco and Diane Hunter of Lakeland, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, three great-granddaughters, and other family members. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at Jordan-Funeral Home, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, at the funeral home.
