BANGOR – Richard E. Monteith, 67, died Jan. 11, 2007, at a Bangor nursing facility. He was born Feb. 25, 1939, in Marshfield, the son of James and Lillian (Gray) Monteith. He is survived by his wife, Laura of Brewer; two daughters, Virginia Gifford of Bangor and Tracy Hood; one step-daughter, Justine Ellis of Alabama; two sons, Darryl Monteith of Brewer and Derek Monteith of Bangor; one stepson Eric Jackson of Alabama; sisters, Elizabeth Devoe of Bangor and Joan Sinclair of Mississippi; one brother, Robert Monteith of Alabama; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son, Waylon Monteith; two sisters, Crystle Lund and Sarah Lenz. Private services will be held for the family.
