SHERIDAN – Richard J. LeFrancois, 70, died Feb. 21, 2004, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born May 20, 1933, in Salem, Mass., the son of Arthur and Sara (Williams) LeFrancois. He had served in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force. He was a life member of the Ashland VFW LeBlanc-Junkins Post 9699, AM Vets, and the B.P.O.E. He was also a member of the Ashland Fish and Game and had attended Elks lodges in both Massachusetts and in Presque Isle. Surviving him are his wife, Geraldine Dunn of Sheridan; a daughter and her husband, Susan and Roger Cieszlak; two grandchildren, Timothy McNicholas and Meghan Power; a great-grandchild, Clayton McNicholas; and a step-great-grandchild, Richard Crawford. He was predeceased by his first wife of 33 years, Joan Govoni. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Those who wish may make memorial donations in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter, 163 Lancaster St., Suite 160B, Portland, ME 04101-2406. Arrangements are in the care of the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home in Presque Isle.
