LUBEC – Joanne D. Stafford, 70, died quietly at a Lubec nursing home Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004. She was born March 7, 1933, in Lubec, daughter of William and Jessie (Parker) Stafford. Joanne was a graduate of Lubec High School and employed in Boston at area banks for more than 20 years. She returned to Lubec to enjoy her family, friends, and the town she loved so much. Joanne was active in the Sacred Heart R.C. Church and the functions at the Ocean View Nursing Home, where she was loved by both patients and staff alike. It was her wish was to return to Lubec to be with these same friends at the end. Joanne was loved by all but more importantly she loved all. She was predeceased by her father, William of Lubec. In addition to her mother, she is survived by a brother, Robert Stafford; an aunt, Hazel Parker Tyler; a niece, Bobbi-Jo Varney; a nephew, Gary Stafford; three great-nieces and great-nephews, Aaron, Tyler and Mallory, all of Lubec; two cousins, Galen Tyler and his wife, Cheryl, of East Hampton, Conn., and John Tyler and his wife, Pat, of Keene, N.H. A small family service will be held at a later date. Those who wish may make donations in her memory to the Ocean View Nursing Home, Lubec, ME 04652.
