BANGOR – Richard Turner, 92, passed away Friday, March 23, 2007, at a Bangor health care center. He was born April 11, 1914, in Eastport, the son of Harvey and Melissa Lyons Turner. Richard began his truck driving career at the ripe age of 14. His driving career lasted 44 years, in which he drove for M&M Transport, of Somerville, Mass., and Donahue Transport out of Cambridge, Mass. Richard was the youngest of 10 children. He married Brunetta Sullivan, of Eastport, and remained married 43 years, until Brunetta’s passing. Richard supported Salvation Army and attended the Sevent- Day Adventist Church, Hermon. He is survived by daughter, Marjorie Abboud of Pembroke, Mass.; son, Richard Turner Jr. of Nevada; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; as well as Heather, Wes, Cole, Chase and Christian Turner of Bangor, to whom he became a close friend and adopted family member. Richard will be sadly missed by all whom had the honor to have known him. Burial will be held in Quincy, Mass., at a later date.
