FORT FAIRFIELD – Richard O. Kilcollins, 68, husband of Gloria L. (Haley) Kilcollins, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, Sept. 17, 2006, at his Fort Fairfield residence. He was born May 8, 1938, in Fort Fairfield, the son of Arthur P. and Ethel (Hagerman) Kilcollins. He graduated from Fort Fairfield High School in 1956, was a potato farmer in Fort Fairfield until his retirement in 2002 and continued to assist his son, Philip with his farming operation right up until his death. Richard was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, Fort Fairfield and married Gloria L. Haley June 7, 1957. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, the Fort Fairfield Rifle and Pistol Club and the Fort Fairfield Snowmobile Club. Richard enjoyed motorcycling, shooting, snow-mobiling, NASCAR and coin collecting. He was predeceased by his father, Arthur P. Kilcollins Nov. 2, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gloria L. Kilcollins; his mother, Ethel Kilcollins; two sons and daughters-in-law, Philip E. and Tamra J. Kilcollins, Robert and Jane Kilcollins, all of Fort Fairfield; seven grandchildren, Jessamy Kilcollins of Boston, Benjamin Kilcollins of Biddeford, Casey and Ethan Hill, Robbie, Brock and Alyssa Kilcollins, all of Fort Fairfield; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Elta Kilcollins of Hermon, Thomas and Catherine Kilcollins of Fort Fairfield; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 1:30-3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, at Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where a funeral service will be conducted 3 p.m. with Asa Cook officiating. Interment will be held after the service at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of fellowship with refreshment will be held at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield, immediately after the interment.
