ABBOT – Jonathan Franklin Prescott Sr., 69, died Sept. 15, 2006, at his home. He was born Feb. 6, 1937, in Willimantic, son of J. Sevey and Elizabeth (McKenney) Prescott. After high school he served in the U.S. Army until 1960. He worked as a finish carpenter, a trade he learned from his grandfather, and then was the production manager for Northeastern Log Homes, Kenduskeag, retiring after 25 years of service. John will be remembered as an extraordinary family man. He is survived by his wife, Lois (Van Dyke) Prescott of Abbot; children, Jonathan Franklin Prescott Jr. and Roxanne of Abbot, Debra Morgan Prescott and Marty Mower of Abbot, Daniel Steven Prescott and Karen of Rochester, Minn., and David Andrew Prescott Sr. and Courtney of Winslow; grandchildren, Jaymi Lynn and Dean Sprague of Guilford, Jerrica Prescott of Abbot, Senior Airman Christopher M. Prescott, U.S. Air Force, Tucson, Ariz., Daniel Prescott of Minnesota, Josh Prescott of Dover-Foxcroft, David Prescott Jr. of Winslow, Miranda, Melyssa and Andrew Prescott of Stetson; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Kaitlyn and Callahan Sprague of Guilford; a sister, Jean Prescott of Rhode Island; and mother-in-law, Elizabeth Van Dyke of Guilford. He was predeceased by a grandson, Jonathan Franklin Prescott III. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Nancy Moore officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Willimantic.
