CHERRYFIELD and SOMESVILLE – Richard R. Adams, “Dick,” 74, passed away peacefully, Feb. 20, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 23, 1931, in Oklahoma City, Okla., the beloved son of James L. and Gladys (Lindsey) Adams. Dick proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. having battled in the Korean War and receiving the Purple Heart for his efforts. Living in California most of his life, he and his family moved to Somesville in 1972, which he loved and worked various jobs, retiring from Jackson Lab. Dick is survived and will be greatly missed by his mother, Gladys Adams of Richmond, Calif.; sons, Andrew Adams of Old Orchard Beach, William Adams and Chris Adams of California; daughter, Staci and husband, Mark Chipman, of Southwest Harbor; and seven grandchildren. Also, a special cousin, Roza Dresee and her family in California. He was predeceased by his father, James L. Adams; wife, Sharon Adams; and a son, Richard Adams.
