PENOBSCOT – Richard W. Bowden, 65, died May 29, 2008, at his residence. He was born April 12, 1943, in Blue Hill, the son of Wallace and Iva (Orcutt) Bowden. Richard worked for Hancock County Creamery for more than 23 years. He loved being a mechanic and was owner/operator of R.W. Bowden & Sons Garage for more than 20 years. He enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, kayaking and four-wheeling, but his family, friends and customers were his real love. He will be sadly missed by his canine friend, Sammy. Richard was a member of Ira Berry Lodge Blue Hill, Acadia ATV Club, Trenton and the Mason’s. Richard is survived by his wife, Audrey (Bridges); two sons, Donald R. Bowden and wife, Lisa, of Blue Hill and Peter W. Bowden and wife, Lisa, of Orland; two daughters, Iva Scott of Blue Hill and Joan Piskura and husband, Steve, of Orland; two sisters, Georgianna “Jo” Blake and Jane Clifford, both of Brooksville; grandchildren, Kristy Bowden of Sedgwick, Jesse Bowden of West Tremont, Dustin Piskura of Orland, Courtney Bowden of Blue Hill, Dylan Bowden of Orland, Dustin Bowden of Orland, Ashlee Piskura of Orland, Jacob Bowden of Blue Hill and Amee Piskura of Orland. He was predeceased by his first wife of 46 years, Loretta (Lavoie); and a sister, Mabel Cousins. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, June 5, at Mountain View Cemetery, Blue Hill.
