EAST MILLINOCKET – Rita M. St. Peter, 84, joined her husband of 66 years, Gilman A. St. Peter, just three weeks after his passing, Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at Katahdin Nur-sing Home, Millinocket. She was born July 2, 1933, in St. Quinton, Canada, the daughter of Thomas and Euphemie (Picard) Guerrette. Rita was very devoted to her family and was a caregiver to any in her family or circle of friends who had a need. Her faith was of highest importance to her and she lived her faith through her selfless care of others. Rita was involved with the Daughters of Isabella, St. Ann’s Circle, for a few years and was actively involved in cooking for and helping organize the St. Peter’s Lawn Parties and other events in East Millinocket. She is survived by her six children, Claudette Tardy and her husband, Glen, of Millinocket, Harold St. Peter and his wife, Mary Ann, of Millinocket Lake, Charlotte Purcell and her husband, Michael, of East Millinocket, Tom St. Peter of St. Petersburg, Fla., Pamela Bye and her husband, Dan, of Maple Plain, Minn., and Marsha Northway and her husband, Mike, of Savannah, Ga.; two brothers, Robert Guerrette and his wife, Therese, and Norman Guerrette, all of Old Orchard Beach; two sisters, Orilla Allie and her husband, Raymond, of Biddeford and Sister Yvette Guerrette of Methuen, Mass.; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Rita was predeceased by her brothers, Sylvio, Romeo and Leo; and sisters, Germaine Lagasse, Marie Ange Ouellette, Cecile Lagasse and Anne Marie Guerrette. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Monday at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where a rosary service will be held 7 p.m. For Rita’s friends needing transportation to the visiting hours, please contact the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 58 Cedar St., East Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider.
