CARY and HOULTON – Robert A. “Bobby” Hardy, 54, died July 10, 2004, at his residence. He was born Nov. 1, 1949, at Winchester, Mass., the son of Francis W. and Mary (Lee) Hardy. Bobby served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War from 1967 until 1971. He was a member of the Chester L. Briggs American Legion Post No. 47, serving as past commander and past Chaplain. Bobby is survived by his wife, Kathy L. (Pelkey) Hardy of Cary; his parents, Mary (Lee) and Basil Suitter of Houlton; his son, Chet of Presque Isle; his daughter, Kimberly of Linneus; three grandchildren, Shelbey, Michael and Dameon; four brothers, Bill Hardy of Houlton, Tim Hardy of Lincoln, Mike Hardy of Houlton, Basil Suitter of Hodgdon, Carey Suitter of East Hodgdon; two sisters, Sheila Hovey of Houlton, Ellen Watson of Ohio; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service with Military Honors will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Chester L. Briggs American Legion.
