PALMYRA – Robert A. Shaw, Sr., 65, died Nov. 26, 2007, at his residence. He was born May 8, 1942, in Pittsfield, a son of Lionel and Vira (Bowden) Shaw. He was employed at the Eastland Woolen Mill, Corinna and the Irving Tannery, Hartland, retiring in 1997. Bob also owned and operated the R & A Auto Salvage. He enjoyed his family, especially the grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman and at the time of his death, he was preparing for the black powder deer hunting season. He is survived by his wife, Wealthy (Bowdoin) Shaw of Palmyra; eight children, Linda and husband, William Gogan, of Unity, Jeff and wife, Sandy Shaw, Jim and wife, Gina Shaw, all of San Diego, Dwayne Shaw and fianc?e, Frederica, of Pittsfield, Terrance Call of Clinton, Dale Sr. and wife, Laurie Call, Nancy and husband, George Watson, all of Palmyra, and Rex Sr. and wife, Penney Call, of St. Albans; a brother, Lester and wife, Juanita Shaw, of Palmyra; a sister, Gloria and husband, Robert Lunt, of Plymouth; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons, Robert Shaw Jr. and Galen Call. The family wishes to thank the Hartland-St. Albans Fire Department Ambulance crew and the paramedics from Sebasticook Valley Hospital. Graveside services will be held in the spring when all of the family will be able to be present. The committal service will be held in the family lot at Palmyra Village Cemetery with the Rev. Ronald Parker officiating.
