BANGOR – Robert “Bob” A. McMahan, 55, died Oct. 26, 2003, at his Bangor home. He was born Feb. 7, 1948, in Bath, the son of Chester and Lorraine (Osgood) McMahan. Bob was known for his woodworking and his involvement with the Creative Knotty Pine Shop in Winterport. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and in the last couple of years, lobstering. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Judy (Donnelly) McMahan of Bangor; one son, Michael and Kelly McMahan of Auburn; three step-daughters, Judy Taylor of Calais, Jean and her husband, Hugh Gilman, of China Lake, Janis Marchese of Calais; two step-sons, Michael Bowen and Jim Bowen, both of Brewer; one brother, David McMahan; and one sister, Janice Abely, both of Bangor; and 10 grandchildren. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Ohio St., Bangor, with Rev. Clayton Blackstone, pastor of the Bangor Advent Christian Church, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, following the graveside service on Wednesday.
