SOUTHWEST HARBOR Robert Bruce Norwood, 83, died May 10, 2008, at a Bangor hos-pital. He was born Dec. 25, 1924, in Mount Desert, the son of Lloyd E. and Isabelle (Higgins) Norwood. He was a lifetime member of American Legion and VFW. He was a survivor of World War II and served on the USS Enterprise CV6, as an electrician’s mate third class. He enjoyed dancing, hunting, gardening, photography and going to Walmart. Robert is survived by his companion, Ramona Turner; two daughters, Mary Goodwin of Portland and Joyce Norwood of Houston; one brother, Lloyd Norwood Jr. and wife, Judy, of Northeast Harbor; three sisters, Myrle Crockett and husband, Les, of Bar Harbor, Maybelle Montgomery and husband, Monty, of Tennessee and Janett Muise and husband, Sherwood, of Otter Creek; sister-in-law, Lucile Norwood; six grandchildren, Colleen, Michelle, Angela, Pam, Jaylene and Jayme; 11 great-grandchildren; and by Ramona’s children, Karen Rochford, Larry Turner and Rita Pollard. He was predeceased by a brother, Harvey Norwood; and two sisters, Elsie Potter and Rosalie Griffin. Robert will be sadly missed by his north woods hunting gang, the Rochford family. Friends are invited to call 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev.
