EASTPORT – Robert “Honest Bob” Riley, 77, of Eastport, died Jan. 14, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. He was born June 11, 1926, in Lowell, Mass. He served in the Merchant Marines from January 1943 to May 1945 and in the U.S. Army from June 1945 to November 1946 during World War II. He then served in the Korean War in the Army from November 1950 to November 1953. In his later years he retired to Eastport to enjoy new friends and fishing on his boat. He will be missed dearly by those who knew him. The family will hold an Irish wake/Memorial service at Bob Riley’s home at a date to be announced.
