STONINGTON – Robert D. “Bud” Hutchinson, 86, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at the home of his stepson in Brooksville. He was born April 19, 1917, in Stonington, the son of Pearl E. and Carrie M. (Williams) Hutchinson. Bud served in the Navy during World War II. He was a lobster fisherman for more than 60 years and was anticipating induction into the Fisherman’s Hall of Fame in Stonington. Bud was a member of the Stonington United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the American Legion, Post No. 102 in Stonington. He is survived by a son, Terry Hutchinson and his wife, Kathy, of Connecticut; daughter, Deena; stepson, David Marshall and his wife, Joan, of Brooksville; two sisters, Dorothy “Babe” Bridges of Stonington and Clara Ellis of Deer Isle; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. His wife, Beatrice M. (Wakefield) Hutchinson and a sister, Virginia Cole predeceased him. Graveside services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Oceanville at a date to be announced in the spring.
