LEWISTON and DEXTER Robert D. Tenney, 56, died peacefully Feb. 14, 2008, at his Lewiston home. He was born Jan. 11, 1952, in Dexter, a son of David S. and Blanche M. (Tupper) Tenney. Robert grew up in Dexter and attended Dexter area schools. He proudly served as a Dexter volunteer firefighter for 15 years. He married Dona R. Lovely, July 22, 1995, after which they traveled briefly and settled in Lewiston. He worked at Poland Springs bottling plant for many years and recently was employed at L.L. Bean, Freeport. He had a great love for boating, fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with his family and close friends. Robert had fond memories of his days at Dexter House of Pizza, having coffee with the guys. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Dona of Lewiston; son, David Tenney of Bangor; stepsons, Gerald Lovely Jr. of Boothbay Harbor and John and wife, Patricia Lovely, and their children, Paige, Alexander and Samantha Lovely, all of Arundel; two brothers, Stanley and wife, Rose Tenney and Herbert Tenney and partner, Beverly Dyer, all of Dexter; three sisters, Carmalene and husband, Vinal Shorey, of Burlington, Caroline and husband, Charles Fish, of Dexter and Allegne and husband, Linal Daniel, of Long Island, N.Y.; his dearest friends, Michael and Ellen Russell of Hartland; many nephews and nieces; and dear friends, including Howard “Buddy” Davis Jr. and family, and Harold Mower and family, all of Dexter. He was predeceased by his parents; and four sisters, Rachel Caroline, Laura May, Leatrice Joy and Sherry Ann. He will also be greatly missed by his beloved cats, Midnight and Maizie. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main St., Dexter. Spring graveside committal services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Those who wish may sign an online guest register at www.CrosbyNeal.com.
