DAVIDSON, N.C. – Mr. Groux, 63, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, surrounded by his loving family at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. Robert fought a 22-month battle with cancer with courage and dignity. He was born Jan. 27, 1943, in Manchester, N.H., to the late George and Eleanor Groux. Robert was employed by Duke Energy for 26 years, after serving in the U.S. Navy for seven years. He fulfilled his retirement dream with his wife, living on the East Coast in Belfast. Robert was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, Mooresville, N.C. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Deborah Groux; daughters, Cathy McGee and husband, Tate, of Huntersville, N.C., and Caroline Sitzer and husband, Mark, of Hickory, N.C.; brothers, Richard Groux and wife, Joan, of Medina, Ohio, and William Groux and wife, Jan, of St. Augustine Beach, Fla.; sister, Deanna Hilton and husband, Jack, of Rockville, Md.; three grandchildren, Zachary McGee, Madelyn and Olivia Sitzer; four nephews and one niece. A Mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Mooresville, N.C. The family will receive friends after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Therese Catholic Church Building Fund, 217 Brawley School Road, Mooresville, NC 28115.
